A year ago, I didn’t even have a business. Being a doula and childbirth educator was always my dream, but it felt so far out of reach. The idea of having a website or email list was overwhelming. I honestly didn’t think I’d ever have those things, let alone clients. I thought it would take years before anyone would actually hire me. I was discouraged and stuck in the “someday” mindset.

Now, everything looks different. I’m completely booked and only taking on my absolute ideal clients. I’ve built and launched an entire CBE program, something I thought would take me years. I already have a growing email list that’s bigger than I ever imagined, and on top of that, I started a podcast! None of this even felt possible a year ago.

One of the biggest shifts for me has been learning to say no. Before, I was terrified of turning away a client, worried that no one else would come along. Now, I can quickly tell when someone isn’t the right fit, and I confidently refer them to another doula who’s a better match. That’s been so empowering.

Some of the moments I’m most proud of? Launching my CBE course, signing my very first clients, and getting regular messages on social media from people saying thank you or asking questions. That validation reminds me how far I’ve come.

Looking ahead, my goal is to raise my prices and continue attracting more of my dream clients. A year ago, I didn’t even believe this life was possible, and now I’m living it.
